Gasoline futures rose to their highest level in almost three years, spurred by expectations of further declines in U.S. supplies.
The climb indicates drivers are likely to see even higher prices at the pump as the summer travel season approaches. Oil futures, meanwhile, finished nearly unchanged.
Reformulated gasoline blendstock, or RBOB, for May delivery settled up 1.43 cents, or 0.4%, at $3.3229 a gallon on the New York Mercantile Exchange, the highest settlement since July 15, 2008. |
