There is no way the SC driver will be able to see the leading BMW coming out of the corner, as his rear view vision has been partially blocked by the pit lane, and the speed differential was far too great, the SC was probably traveling at 50~100km/hr exiting the pit lane while the leading BMW was hammering around the corner well in excess of 150~200km/hr, assuming the SC driver did check his left side mirror when exiting the pit lane, the BMW probably might not have appeared in his mirror yet.

However, the SC car SHOULD  NOT attempt to take the racing line after exiting the pit lane, the rule for exiting pit lane is that to stay on the pit lane side of the track and once certain the racing line is clear then move over, the way the SC cut across the track lane was not professional at all.

The BMW is not totally without fault, the SC board and Yellow Flag has been deployed before hand, the leading BMW driver had to know that there was a risk that SC was on the track at that time, and the cars behind him could not over take him due to the yellow flag anyway, so for him unable to brake in time with the SC in front was not acceptable, because instead of the SC being there it could be of a crash wreck sitting in the middle of the track, that is what Yellow Flag is for "Cautions & No overtaking" until "Green Flag"!  These are professional racing drivers, they must know!  The only reasons that the leading BMW kept on hammering on the gas pedal was because he wanted to keep the distance between him and the 2nd chasing car in order to preserve the existing advantage, however it turned out to be a very costly strategy for him, so my view is that the leading BMW driver shares a bigger portion of the blame than the SC driver.
