208 GTi

又幾好睇喎.

Power could be provided by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine from the MINI Cooper S. It produces 184 PS (135 kW / 181 hp) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque which should enable the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than seven seconds. If that fast isn't enough, there have been rumors of a high-performance variant with approximately 200 PS (147 kW / 197 hp).

最後變左咁.

Peugeot releases the first official photos of the new 208 GTI, which will be fully revealed at the imminent 2012 Paris Motor Show. The most powerful version of the little French hatch will have a total length equal to that of the ‘regular’ 208, but will get all of the muscle showcased by the 208 GTI Concept, meaning bigger fenders, a 10 mm wider front track and a 20 mm wider rear track. Definitely worth mentioning is the serious weight loss of the model: at 1160 kg, the 208 GTI will be 165 kg lighter than the model it will replace, the 207 GTI, and 80 less than Renault Clio RS.
Under its hood there will be a turbocharged 4-cylinder 1.6-litre THP petrol engine, credited with an output of 200 hp and 275 Nm of peak torque - the same unit equipping the Peugeot RCZ - mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. As for the performance, the 208 GTI will burn the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 7 seconds, with the French engineers who have thrown in some extra work in order to make the exhaust sound as much satisfying as possible.
The car will also benefit from a lowered suspension, recalibrated dampers, a roll cage with increased structural rigidity and a quite generous braking system featuring 302 mm ventilated discs at the front and and 249 mm ones at the back. The steering system underwent some upgrading as well in order to ensure a better driving experience. More details about the Peugeot 208 GTI will be revealed in the days leading up to the Paris Motor Show.

"The 200bhp option was picked because it offers better fuel economy, but the 230bhp unit could still make an appearance."

GTi 之餘仲有GTiR !!!
Peugeot is already considering an even hotter version of the soon-to-arrive 208 GTi – and it could wear an 'R' badge.

Peugeot UK managing director Tim Zimmerman told Autoblog at the Paris Motor Show that the RCZ R model shows 260bhp is achievable from the maker's THP engine – but that performance has to be usable if it's to be used in the 208.

The firm's 208 GTi will arrive in the spring with 200bhp and will instantly become the firm's quickest ever model. It will hit 60mph in under seven seconds, stealing the legendary 205 GTi 1.9's crown as the fastest accelerating Peugeot ever.

However, not a firm to rest on its laurels, the French maker hasn't ruled out producing an even faster variant. And the UK chief said the R badge would be a "logical" move.
