Talk to Bobby laa, he used to have one of the best example of MR2 MkII (NA version) in HK.
A real life example, Bobby King was driving a MR2 MKII in the twisty mountain in wet, and he was totally untouchable even by the Gang Leader!!!

thanks everyone's input....then now i may narrow down into s2000, mrs and of course mito....need to make decision by may as for the early bird price offered by alfa.....
To me S2000 is a special car, purposely engineering FR with 50:50 weight distribution in order to experiment the handling of modern 50:50 high performance sports car.
MR-S is one end product, engineered with the handling data collected from Mk1 and Mk2.
MiTo is an easy handling, little fun driving car with Alfa spirit.
If I were in position to choose, I will take S2000 or MR-S.
S2000 is over-priced and difficult to get a straight one.
Go for the new Mito la.
MR-S should be less expensive to keep/run and good
for daily driving.
S2000 is an unique 9000rpm machine, only one of its kind in this world (beside wankel engine), it is sexy and attractive, but not easy to extract the performance on the street, other turbo cars or big cc NA machines will walk all over you before you get any real torque from the engine. Nice looking track machine though.
MR-S, oh please don't let me start on it. It is the most ugly one among the MR2 series, period!
Mito is good for daily commuting + weekend fun time, however with a small 1.4L turbo, it lacks the top-end power of the bigger engine competitors, it is at best comparable to 2.0 NA engines. If you are planning to keep the car just 1~2 years then you will be facing a pretty steep depreciation as well.
I would go for either S2000 or Mito.
Most of the S2000 vtec engine do not produce 250ps as claimed.
Let's see
2000MY S2000 $140,000
2009MY MiTo $189,000
2000MY MR-S $90,000
now, 1999MY Boxster 棍 $188,888 Why not take a look.
Don't go for 2.5L laa, go for 2.7 or 3.2 maa! 2.5L is a weak engine, that is why Porsche upgrade it to 2.7 within a short period of time.
If pay 188,888 and time is not an issue, why not import a Elise from UK.....
