One of the largest changes made, compared to the “old” X12, is the rotor. It is now dynamically balanced to operate super smooth. This results in higher motor efficiency and therefore lower running temperatures. We invested in a new (+ expensive…) balancing machine for our production line which allows dual axis high-precision balancing. As far as I’m aware we’re also the only manufacturer, thanks to our exclusive PreciSensor system, that is capable of balancing the rotors truly dynamic on both magnet sides instead of only one side. Reto went through quite a large number of different rotors with different magnet sizes, grades, coating types until he finalised the perfect version for the X20. To simplify the handling, the rotor-type can now be identified on the output shaft’s flat spot by a small laser engraving…no more guessing or dismounting to verify what rotor you use!
