私家車首次登記稅率加15%

財政司    長曾俊華    建議，將私家車首次登記稅現行各稅階的稅率提高約百分之十五。

曾俊華表示，私家車佔香港整體汽車超過六成。香港汽車數量多年持續上升，私家車的按年增幅在2010年創下超過10年來的新高，達百分之五點四。於2010年進行首次登記的私家車更飈升至超過41 000輛。

他指出，私家車持續增長已明顯影響本港道路的交通情況。他建議將私家車首次登記稅現行各稅階的稅率提高約百分之十五。其他汽車類別的首次登記稅，以及現時為電動汽車和環保汽油私家車提供的優惠均維持不變。

有關調整將於今日刋憲並即日生效。他希望藉有關措施紓緩交通擠塞，而非為了增加稅收。

Serious BS.交通擠塞 is because:

1) we have too many different buses running on the same main roads, ie Nathan Road, Gloucester Road, harbour tunnel and Kings Road.  Why not do it like Canada or Australia, use connecting bus routes?

and the Answer is...then it will lower the income of the bus companies adv income on the body of the buses.

2) The expensive western tunnel + the poor design of the connecting Sheung Wan and Central routes.

3) The tourist buses jamming up traffic is TST, CWB and MK.
