根據《道路交通（車輛登記及領牌）規例》

（2）除非持牌人或獲其授權並由其僱用的人士在場及掌管該車輛，例如顧客在車行職員陪同下進行試車，否則T牌不得由持牌人以外的其他人使用；

（4）另外，每名持牌人須就根據T牌所使用的車輛所行駛的全部路程，備存一本登記冊顯示每段路程的日期、時間及地點，車輛的登記號碼（如有的話）等詳情。T牌持有人須在警務人員或運輸署提出要求時交出該登記冊，以供檢查。
