Contact surface area is the same as before, clamping force is the same as before, only the pivotal leverage has improved.
Once factor in the cost of the big disc + the offset bridge + larger wheel, just to get a higher pivotal leverage, is it really worth it? Wouldn't an upgrade of the brake pad material would be a more cost efficient upgrade then this method? |
