They actually thought about to relaunch the Supra, but the idea dropped after the poor sales of the SC430 (aka Soarer). Then the resources was put into the I-FS, the IS with the 430 engine. Toyota's preference is to produce high performance luxury salons (actually mentioned at their last earning's report as they also denied that they had plans for a smaller size hybrid car, as they do not see profitability in small hybrid cars and also sports cars).
Same case for Honda, after the suspension of S2000. Honda is still thinking whether or not to go for the next generation of NSX, but chances are very slim for the next 3 years. |
